Extra Curricular Clubs

We are extremely proud of the wide range of after school, extra-curricular clubs that we offer our children of all ages, throughout the school. Learning and developing skills beyond the school day is something we feel passionately about as we believe this prepares our pupils for life in the ‘real world’.

Sports activities feature prominently at Lynch Hill and pupils are able to apply to attend a wide range of different sports clubs, both indoor and outdoor, team and individual, across the school year. In KS2, pupils can register to develop their skills even further by attending morning sports clubs, which begin at 8am each morning of the week.

Almost all areas of the curriculum are offered as an after school club at different points in the academic year so pupils can have the opportunity to practise their favourite subjects after school. Whether they favour Science or perhaps Computing – children love learning programming - or even cookery, where they get to enjoy the fruits of their labour at the end of the session, the pupils benefit from the activities and challenges on offer. It is also an opportunity for children to explore new talents and discover new hobbies such as sewing, sport or singing.

Staff plan a six week club programme for which a nominal fee is charged.

Lynch Hill School is affiliated to a national scheme called ‘The Children’s University’. Clubs at our school are validated to ensure they provide good quality and a range of activities. Children can receive national awards depending on the amount of time spent in clubs. Activities are on a rota and details are given in the half-termly club letter and on this website. The hours attended are logged and accumulate over the year towards various awards. Graduation for KS2 pupils takes place at Royal Holloway University each summer in a wonderful ceremony enjoyed by pupils, staff and parents.
