Achievement and Ofsted Reports

Ofsted Report

Our most recent Ofsted report was published in 2008.  We have since become an academy, and so the report is not available on the Ofsted website.  However, you can download a copy by clicking here

At Lynch Hill we aspire for all our children to reach their full potential. We are committed to giving all our pupils every opportunity to achieve the highest of standards in a safe, supportive and secure environment.

In the summer term of 2016, pupils in Year 6 were the first to take the new end of KS2 test papers. These tests in Reading, Spelling, Punctuation & Grammar (SPAG) and Maths reflect the new national curriculum, and are intended to be more rigorous. Levels are no longer awarded to pupils: rather the tests judge whether Year 6 pupils are secondary ready and a scaled score is given. The lowest scaled score that can be awarded is 80 and the highest is 120. A score of 100+ is judged to be the expected end of KS2 standard. At Lynch Hill, we are very pleased with how well our pupils performed and they should be congratulated for the enormous effort and commitment shown throughout their time at primary school. As you can see, our results surpass both local and national results; so there is much to be proud of.

Key Achievements:

  • In Reading, more children at LHS scored 110+ than any other school in Slough.
  • In Writing, more children at LHS scored 110+ than any other school in Slough.
  • In Maths, more children at LHS scored 110+ than any other school in Slough.
  • When looking at Reading, Writing and Maths combined, 71% of our pupils managed to achieve the expected standard. Only one school in Slough had a greater % of children reaching the expected standard.

 Progress Measures:

It is also important to look at the progress pupils make between KS1 and the end of KS2 and compare this with the achievements of other pupils nationally: these are called the progress measures. Progress scores will be centred around 0, with most schools within the range of -5 to +5.
